Support the Scholarship

I graduated from Whitworth University with honors Cum Laude in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology on the pre-medical track. In college, I was involved in various community service projects, mentorship positions, and of course intramural soccer. My time in college was highly impactful and allowed me to foster relationships with friends and professors who have become family in nature. It is so true when they say it takes a village to raise a child. The community I fostered at Whitworth has continued to remain a strong support system for me as I journey onward to life outside of college. At this point in time, I am working as a medical scribe in Spokane, WA. I recently submitted my medical school applications and have begun to receive secondary applications from various schools. I plan to attend medical school fall of 2020 and pursue a specialty in family medicine. While in Spokane I am spending my time rock climbing, playing soccer for the city league, and rekindling my love for reading.  I would encourage anyone to seek new passions during gap years of college. The summer after I graduated, I worked as a barista as I prepared for the MCAT. Ultimately, I am so grateful for the Al Forthan Scholarship that enable me to attend Whitworth University.
