PPRI Program Outcomes

The Portland Partners Re-entry Initiative (PPRI) is one of 30 demonstration projects funded by the U.S. Department of Labor as part of the federal Prisoner Re-entry Initiative. Entering its fourth year of operation, PPRI has served more than 660 adults releasing from Oregon’s prisons and jails.

  • 70% have entered employment.
  • Average wage is $10.00/hour.
  • Recidivism rate is 11%.
  • PPRI is among 12 programs that have met all DOL outcome measures.
  • A pre-release transition curriculum (Road to Success) was developed by VOA with the Oregon Department of Corrections; it was piloted as part of the partnership and is now used throughout the Oregon prison system.
