As summer ends, it’s not only a time to review and evaluate our past year’s activities, but to also plan strategically and programmatically for services provided by VOA Oregon, and the needs of our community.
In this newsletter, we will provide you with an update on key initiatives within our organization designed to continue to transform our service delivery system.
As you may remember, Care Oregon selected VOA Oregon to participate in its Strategic Health Care Investments for Transformation (SHIFT) initiative. The foundation of this transformation effort is to have a more patient-centric, outcome-focused, team-based care service delivery system. We believe this change agenda will result in even better outcomes for those we serve. Over a two-year period, VOA Oregon will play a key role in supporting and driving meaningful change in the healthcare landscape.
Another key initiative for VOA Oregon is the development of the VOA Campus at 8815 NE Glisan Portland. To that end the VOA Oregon team focuses on information sharing, engaging public officials and community leaders to support our fundraising campaign. This effort includes inviting input through town hall meetings in the Montavilla Neighborhood.
I am pleased to announce a new Executive Team member to the VOA team. Toby Absher joins our organization bringing 25 years of healthcare leadership, as our new Director of Operations. He will lead our Treatment and Family Services Divisions. Toby has a passion for social services and improving access to all aspects of healthcare. We are thrilled to have him join our team.
This summer marked my 25 years as CEO of VOA Oregon. This important milestone was recognized by so many in my circle of influence—VOA team members, community leaders, and current and former clients that my celebration was made even more heartwarming.
VOA Oregon is a remarkable organization that daily addresses issues that some see as intractable. Through the delivery of programs supported by research and proven practices, VOA Oregon achieves outcomes with our program participants that allow them to get their lives back on track successfully.
As your social/health services provider agency, we are so pleased to make a difference in our community.
Thank you for your support in helping us to make a positive impact on the lives of children, families, adults, and our community.
