In October, local artist Candyce Scott installed 2 mobiles in the stairwells of the Womens Recovery Center. Having gone through VOA Oregon’s WRC program herself, it was once considered home. She has worked as a Residential Counselor at the WRC for 10 years, and in the spirit of giving back is delighted to bring her artwork to the building. In addition to adding color, the intent is to provide a calming effect for the residents. The stairwells offer just enough air currents that keep the pieces in slow motion. Ms. Scott has had her mobile sculptures in key Portland locations such as OMSI, Artist Repertory Theater, NUNM, and The First Unitarian Church. Thank you to Ms. Scott for sharing her beautiful work with us.
