As we have launched into 2024, we are grateful to have received much-needed support to continue providing high-quality services to our community. I want to highlight 3 major grants we have received to expand our work and better support the members of our community. From the Health Resources and Services Administration website and the Oregon Association of Relief Nurseries website, we have been awarded $341,269 to make important capital improvements to our Family Relief Nursery, including a new classroom to expand the number of children and families served.

VOA Oregon Home Free, in partnership with El Program Hispano Católico, has been awarded nearly $1 million in new funding as part of our community’s HUD Continuum of Care grant to expand housing services for survivors of sex trafficking. Visit El Program Hispano Católico website.

Finally, we have been selected to join five behavioral health providers across the state to participate in the first cohort of CareOregon’s Strategic Healthcare Investment for Transformation (SHIFT) initiative. Visit Bradley Angle's website. We have received a $2.5 million grant for 2  years. Together with our partners, we will be working to transform how behavioral health services are delivered in Oregon.

Amanda Jones
Amanda Jones, VP of Finance; joined VOA Oregon in January 2024

I am excited to announce that Amanda Jones joined our team as the new Vice President of Finance in January. We are excited to have her on board our leadership team and know she will help guide VOA Oregon into a bright future.

During the pandemic, we purchased a property on Glisan in the Montavilla Neighborhood, with hopes of creating a VOA Oregon Campus to serve the needs of our community. Visit our More on Glisan Street Site page. Today we have worked with architects at Opsis to make this vision more concrete. We are currently holding Community Presentations to share with you the plans we have for this campus. We are excited to hear from you as we work together to find ways to build a stronger, healthier community.

Thank you again for all of your support as we continue this important work. You make it possible for VOA Oregon to help make a positive difference in our community.
