There are different building code, licensing, staffing, safety, and operational requirements for outpatient treatment compared to residential treatment.
Residential treatment requires 24/7 operations, sleeping accommodations, residential safety protocols, overnight staffing, food service, medication management, and other infrastructure that is different from outpatient care.
Outpatient services operate differently. Clients come to the site for scheduled services such as individual counseling, group treatment, peer support, case management, and related appointments. They do not live at the site.
