ROADMAPS: For those caring for family members with dementia
It's tough cari
ng for elderly family members with dementia. And it's hard finding others who can relate. But they're out there, and our new group ROADMAPS brings them together.
What is ROADMAPS? A casual get-together. A place for people like
you to chat and share support. Each month members will meet for hors d'oeuvres and sample complementary beverages from Stoller Vineyards. What we discuss is up to you — swap stories and tips, learn ways to stay healthy, or just relax and enjoy the fellowship.
Who: We welcome anyone caring for family at home, including spouses, partners, children and friends.
Where: The Marie Smith Center, 4616 N Albina, Portland, OR 97217.
When: The second Thursday of every month, from 4:00-5:30pm.
Join us for our first meeting on Thursday, September 8th. We'll get to know each other and discuss topics we'd like to explore together. Future meetings may feature presentations from the professional care-giving community, but we'll always leave time to talk!
Want to become a ROADMAPS member? To join, contact Alison Bookman-Skidmore, Program Director. Or call 503-335-9980. Attendance is limited to 20 members.
