SHORT- TO LONG- TERM

  • Child & Family:  Impact the lives of at-risk children and vulnerable families.
  • Public Safety:  Support those rebuilding their lives after addiction or incarceration.
  • Seniors:  Be a comfort, a companion, and an inspiration for seniors & adults with disabilities.
  • Administration & Business:  Provide indirect service to our 22 programs through one of our three businesses or with our Administration office.

ONE-TIME

If you are only available for a one-time project or want to preview one of our programs before making a commitment, please consider joining us for a group project.  Come and meet our friendly staff and volunteers or bring a few friends or family members and enjoy a day of team work.

INTERNSHIPS

Most of the internship and practicum opportunities at our programs, including social work, counseling, drug & alcohol, and nursing positions, are filled several terms in advance through our school partnerships.  If you are are a student at Portland State University, University of Portland, Pacific University, Lewis and Clark, or Portland Community College, please contact your department for application guidelines.

Placements for undergraduate students in fields such as women's studies, social work, gerentology, marketing are considered by our programs on a case-by-case basis.  If you are interested in whether a program can supervise your project, please contact Volunteer Services.  If a placement is available, click here to learn more about the application process.

Service requirements for high school or undergraduate course work can often be filled through one of our one-time group projects.

COURT-MANDATED SERVICE

SKILLED PROFESSIONALS

Most of our positions are designed as entry-level opportunities, although we often post positions for skilled professionals under our short- to long-term opportunities here.  If you have professional expertise you would like to share beyond what our current opportunities offer, please contact Volunteer Services. 

Past positions have involved staff coaching, program development, construction project management, financial training, and counseling.  We have particular need for those with skills in business, fund raising, marketing, teaching, non-profit and/or volunteer management, and inter-cultural communications.
