Thank You, Volunteers!
A group of dedicated volunteers braved the early December wind and cold to install a brand new playground at Family Relief Nursery, Volunteers of America Oregon’s program for families at risk of child abuse and neglect.
“The majority of the children we serve have no safe outdoor space where they can play and get some exercise,” said Michelle Reynolds, Family Relief Nursery's program director. “The playground is a crucial addition to our services that will help us to nurture positive child development so that these children can begin to thrive.”
The new playground offers a diversity of stimulating and fun physical activities to and will give the children a chance to just be kids. Family Relief Nursery serves parents and their children ages six weeks to five years, strengthening vulnerable families and giving parents the tools to help their children arrive at school ready to learn.
Thank you, volunteers! We couldn’t have done this without you.
